Our Story

Math Champs was founded by two passionate and experienced Jamaican educators, Miss Desha Samuels and Querone Dennis, who together bring over 10 years of combined classroom experience teaching mathematics at all levels of high school education across Jamaica.

Having witnessed firsthand the challenges students face with mathematics — and the confidence that comes when they finally grasp it — our founders set out to create something different. They envisioned a learning environment that was not only academically rigorous but also fun, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of every student.

The result is Math Champs — a dynamic online tutoring programme where small group classes, expert instruction, and modern teaching tools come together to create real, measurable results. Our students have gone from scoring 40% to achieving 78% and beyond, and we are just getting started.

Miss Desha Samuels | Co-Founder & Lead Educator

With over 10 years of experience teaching mathematics in Jamaican high schools, Miss Samuels has a proven track record of turning struggling students into confident, high-performing mathematicians. Her patient, step-by-step teaching style and ability to make complex concepts simple are at the heart of the Math Champs approach.

Querone Dennis | Co-Founder & Lead Educator

Querone Dennis brings more than 10 years of high school teaching experience and a genuine passion for student development. Known for engaging lessons that blend structure with creativity, she specialises in helping students build a strong mathematical reasoning foundation — a skill that carries them far beyond the classroom.
